Not to mention, we’ve made some improvements of our own!
Past Renovations at Parkwood Lodge
Ever since the Stillman family purchased Beowulf Lodge in 2008, we’ve made improving our guests’ comfort a top priority. Through diligent planning, Parkwood Lodge has steadily raised the bar for quality.
Early on, all windows were swapped out, new siding, roofing, and paint was applied, and landscaping was performed. Cosmetically, Parkwood Lodge really began to look the part…but there was more behind-the-scenes work to be done.
On top of updating our utility equipment, we also put an emphasis on remodeling our rooms over the past four winters – 10 rooms each year. All of our room interiors are now updated!
Recent Improvements and New Updates
Our remodeled rooms have been structurally updated through the replacement of the flooring and subflooring (laminate on ground floor units and carpet upstairs), re-plastering the walls, and installing new electrical with extra outlets – up to 19 per room. The whole family can charge their devices at once!
These rooms are designed with our guests in mind, featuring all-new beds (two queens/room), refrigerators, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, and lamps/fixtures with outlets! Some come equipped with kitchenettes, which are perfect for an affordable stay.
We’ve also created family suites, which sleep up to seven, by taking three rooms and merging them into two. These recently renovated rooms include three queen-sized beds and a twin-sized bunk for the kids.
We have improved our WI-FI network, repaved our driveway, created additional parking spots, added improved lighting with plug-ins for electric vehicles, and re-roofed all of the buildings.
We’re Not Done Yet
There are even more improvements coming. We have plenty of ideas swirling on how to make our property even better, and we welcome your feedback, as well! Not long ago, our bonfire pit was just a guest suggestion – now it’s a popular spot on our grounds.
Expanding the pool deck, installing an outdoor pool, putting more work into the tennis courts, and adding a picnic pavilion are other upcoming projects on our radar. There are some exciting things on the horizon.
